What is important to know about your pottery?
Since each piece is made individually by hand, tiny imperfections might occur, as well as slight variations in colour, shape and size. Also some glazes naturally behave in ways where they can form a tiny bubble. I can guarantee you that I always choose as similar pieces as possible within one order. It is exactly those small differences in shape and color that make each piece unique and embody the character and beauty of hand made.

What can I do to receive my order in time for Christmas?
In attempt to avoid shipping delays, it’s best to place your order sooner rather than later. Orders to the USA and other international destinations need to be sent by the first week of December at the latest. Orders to the UK and EU can be sent up until 10th December. I’ll do my very best to get that parcel under your Christmas tree!
* Please do not hesitate to place your order FIRST, also if you have any questions. Questions can be added as a comment in the order or sent to kari@kariceramics.com. In case you decide to cancel your order (only within 24 hours of my initial response to your question) because I can not create the items in time for Christmas, I can issue a refund. But if you first wait on my response before you order we might be too late!

How do I take care of the pottery?
All my pottery is microwave- and dishwasher safe. The pieces are made from very high quality stoneware clay to make sure they can easily withstand everyday use. Working many years with high-capacity restaurants, I got all assurances that they are strong and durable. The pieces can be heated in the oven, at a maximum temperature of 120°C/ 248°F.
- What happens after I placed an order?
You will receive a personal email with an estimate about delivery time, which might vary depending on size of your order, whether it is in stock or has to be made, and whether there already are many orders before yours. If what you have ordered is in stock, it will normally be sent within 1-3 days. If it is in process or has to be made, it might take 1-3 weeks, but I do my very best to get it as soon as possible to you!
- What can you tell me about shipping costs?
Ceramics are heavy goods. This is why shipping pottery is expensive compared to other products. My ceramics are made to last a lifetime and packed with utter care, so you will only invest in these costs once. Unless, of course, you decide later on to expand your collection. I strive to offer you the best economical shipping option, always checking the latest shipping rates with different companies. Hoping for your understanding.

What happens if my pottery arrives broken?
Pottery which is damaged upon arrival will be replaced as soon as possible, just take a photo of it and contact me. It will soon be on its way to you again. Fortunately due to very good packing this issue rarely ever happens!
-
What happens if my parcel is lost?
Please send me a message as soon as you notice your parcel did not 'move' with its tracking code for an unusual amount of time - anything ranging from 7 to 20 days. I will refund your money or re-send you the pottery, as you wish.
PLEASE NOTE that if you inform me later than 30 days after your parcel did not move I can not take any responsibility for the refund as my carrier insurance needs a case within a certain time frame in order to investigate.

I live in the UK. What are the consequences of Brexit for my purchase?
It might be, that taxes are charged upon you. This involves Import VAT, custom duties and a clearance fee. We did our best to be as well informed as possible, but custom regulations are still not clear. Hopefully in the future we can provide you with more detailed information. Visit https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty to see current information on behalf of the UK government. If you live in the area, it might be worth the drive to visit me at the Edinburg Christmas market. Find all information here. Here you will save on shipping costs and all fees!

Request a cancellation within: 24 hours of purchase
NB! The buyer is responsible for initial shipping costs, and return shipping costs. Meaning, I can refund the price of the product, but not the shipping costs. If the item is damaged upon return, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

Are there any items that cannot be returned or exchanged?
I cannot accept returns and do not issue refunds for custom-made pieces, as they were designed in collaboration with the specific customer. This also goes for Unique Pieces and items from SALE or labeled as 'second pieces'/ 'seconds'. When damaged upon arrival, I can either issue a refund or send a replacement item (when possible) if a picture is shared of the product still partially in wrapping so I can judge what happened.
Fortunately due to very good packing this issue rarely ever happens!
-
Is a refund is possible, if I am not happy with the pieces?
Yes, it is. Please first send me an email, with a picture of the received pieces, and the reason why you are not happy with them. You can send the pottery back to my studio, the same address as where it came from. Please pack as carefully as possible. After receiving the pottery back in the studio, the refunds will be transferred back to your credit card or original method of payment within 14 days.
NB! The buyer is responsible for initial shipping costs AND return shipping costs. If the item is damaged upon return, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
-
Is there a possibility to wrap the pottery as a gift?
Since I need to make sure the pottery you ordered arrives safe, it must have a lot of bubble-wraps surrounding it. This is the reason why it is very difficult to gift wrap your pottery. However, I am more than happy to add a handwritten message from you included with the present you bought. Please let me know in the field for messages at check out.
